This Privacy Policy explains how Circle VPN (“Circle,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Circle VPN apps for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, and the websites at https://circle.tools and https://www.circle.tools.
Circle VPN collects only what it needs to run the service:
- Email address and account ID, to sign you in and manage your plan.
- A device identifier, to enforce the device limit on your account.
- App Store or Google Play purchase receipts, so Circle can activate the plan you buy. A purchase on the website is matched to your account the same way.
- Country and connection diagnostics (selected node, connect time, and traffic volume), to choose a path and keep the service working.
Circle does not sell this data. Circle does not share it with third parties for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose. The contents of your VPN traffic are used only to provide the connection you start.
1. Who we are
- Product: Circle VPN
- Websites: https://circle.tools and https://www.circle.tools
- Privacy and account requests: support@circlevpn.com
2. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not disclose your account data, purchase receipts, country, or connection diagnostics to third parties for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose.
- We do not record the websites you visit, the DNS names you look up, or the contents of your VPN traffic.
- We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, messages, or an advertising identifier.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The apps do not use a third-party analytics SDK.
- We do not use the VPN to redirect your traffic for advertising.
On Apple platforms the VPN is provided through Apple’s Network Extension. On Android it is provided through Android’s VpnService. Traffic is encrypted between your device and the Circle server you select. That traffic is carried only to complete the connection you start.
3. Information we collect and why
The apps show this list before you connect or buy. The same categories are declared in the iOS privacy manifest. Nothing below is sold or shared with third parties.
| Information | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Email address and account ID | To create your account, sign you in, and manage your plan. |
| Password | To authenticate you. We store a hash of the password, not the password itself. |
| Device identifier and device name | To enforce the number of devices allowed on your plan, and to let you remove a device. |
| Purchase receipt or transaction reference | So we can activate the plan you buy, restore it, and avoid applying the same purchase twice. On iOS this is the App Store receipt. On Android this is the Google Play purchase token. On the website this is the checkout reference for that purchase. |
| Country | Coarse country derived from the public IP address of the connection, using our own service at https://circle.tools/ip. We use it to choose a path. We do not collect precise location. |
| Connection diagnostics | Selected node, connect time, traffic volume, platform, app version, and whether the connection succeeded. We also process the public IP address of the connection as part of operating and securing the service and deriving country. We use this to keep the service working. We do not record destination sites or traffic contents. |
| Preferences on the device | Language, sign-in state, and similar settings, stored on your device so the app can run. |
| Account actions | Registration, sign-in, sign-out, password reset, and account deletion, so we can secure the account and confirm a deletion request. |
4. Payments
When you buy inside the iOS app, you pay Apple. When you buy inside the Android app, you pay Google. When you buy on the website, you pay through the checkout shown on that page. Those platforms process the payment because you purchase from them, under their own terms.
Circle receives a receipt or transaction reference so it can turn the plan on. Circle does not send your VPN traffic, browsing activity, or connection diagnostics to Apple, Google, or the website checkout provider.
We do not receive your full payment-card number.
5. The website
On circle.tools you can create an account, sign in, manage devices, and buy a plan. We use a cookie that is required to keep you signed in and to protect the form from cross-site requests. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell website data.
The website may load fonts or scripts from a public content network so the page can be displayed. That request is separate from the VPN. The apps do not send your account data, receipts, or connection diagnostics to that network.
6. How long we keep information
- Account data is kept until you delete the account.
- Connection diagnostics are kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the service. They are not kept to reconstruct the sites you visit.
- Purchase records we store are deleted when you delete the account. Apple or Google may still keep their own transaction records under their policies.
- A security log that an account action occurred (including that a deletion was requested) may be kept so we can confirm the request and prevent abuse. It is not sold or shared.
7. Delete your account
You can delete your Circle VPN account in the app, or by email if you cannot open the app. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. The steps, and what is deleted or kept, are on the account deletion page.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to send you a copy of it. Email support@circlevpn.com from the email on the account. We may need to confirm that you control that email.
If the law where you live gives you additional rights — including the right to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — you can exercise them by contacting us. Where a law such as the GDPR applies, we process account, purchase, and connection data to perform the service you asked for, and security logs to protect the service.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act. Because we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, a “Do Not Track” signal does not change what the apps collect.
9. Children
Circle VPN is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@circlevpn.com and we will delete it.
10. Security and location of processing
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service, including an encrypted VPN tunnel and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Account information is stored on Circle’s systems. A VPN connection is carried through the server you select, which may be in a country other than yours. That processing is only to provide the connection. We do not sell the data and we do not disclose it to third parties.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above. If a change is material, we will also give notice in the app or on the website. The in-app summary will stay consistent with this page.
